Have you heard about My Medicare? Launched in response to the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce recommendations, it's a voluntary initiative designed to improve the connection between you and your GP.

My Medicare - What's in it for you?

Stronger relationships: By formally linking with a regular GP practice, you can build a stronger connection with your healthcare provider. This fosters better understanding of your health history and needs.

Improved continuity of care: My Medicare encourages a more coordinated approach to your health. Your GP can easily access your medical records, ensuring a seamless experience when you need to see other healthcare professionals.

Potential for longer telehealth consultations: Depending on your situation, you may qualify for longer telehealth consultations with your GP, allowing you to receive quality care from the comfort of your home.

Register In Practice

Ask one of our team members at Southern Medical Centre for a registration form, complete
and sign and we will process directly with Medicare for you.

Register Online
To register online, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to myGov.
  2. Select Medicare.
  3. Select Register for MyMedicare, then Start.
  4. Under search for your practice, select Your practice, then Next. If you can’t find your practice, you’ll need to contact them to check if they’re registered for MyMedicare.
  5. Select Your preferred GP, then Next.
  6. Select Submit registration, then follow the prompts to complete your claim.





Register using Express Plus Medicare Mobile App

To register using the app, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into the Medicare Express Medicare mobile app.
  2. Select Register for MyMedicare, then Start.
  3. Under search for your practice, select Your practice, then Next. If you can’t find your practice, you’ll need to contact them to check if they’re registered for MyMedicare.
  4. Select Your preferred GP, then Next.

Select Submit registration, then follow the prompts to complete your claim.
